38 TMC MLAs In Talks With BJP, Says Mithun Chakraborty
Actor-turned politician Mithun Chakraborty, who joined BJP in 2021, claimed that 38 Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLAs are in talks with the BJP. Reacting to these claims, the TMC camp said, "I think he was mentally ill and not physically... The problem is that he does not know politics." TMC Santanu Sen further said, these claims are nothing but false agendas to mislead people in West Bengal, and have no reality.

Trinamool Congress Defectors To BJP Queue Up To Return
According to reports, TMC defectors to BJP are now seeking return to the party, a month after BJP's defeat in West Bengal Assembly Elections. The turncoat leaders including MLA Sonali Guha, Dipendu Biswas, Rajib Banerjee, Sarala Murmu, Amal Acharya are looking towards the TMC leadership. Interestingly, Mukul Roy's son announced his father’s return to TMC in a Facebook post, which was termed as a rumour by the BJP.

Bengal Governor Approves CBI Prosecution Of TMC MLAs In Bribery Case
The request for CBI prosecution of three present and one former TMC MLAs has been approved by the West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on May 9. Reportedly, Subrata Mukherjee, Firhad Hakim, Madan Maitra and Sovan Chatterjee took bribes in 2014 when they were ministers. They were caught in the Narada sting operation. Recently, CM Mamata Banerjee had listed Mukherjee and Hakim as members of her newly-constituted Cabinet.
