In the West Bengal SSC scam, former chairman of SSC Subiresh Bhattacharya has been arrested by the CBI in the recruitment corruption case.  The arrest came days after CBI raids were conducted at Subiresh's residence, whereas the arrest was due to inconsistency in his statement and further investigation. Notably, Subiresh Bhattacharya, who has been named in the SSC came was chairperson between 2014-2018.

The CBI raided West Bengal Law Minister and Trinamool Congress leader Moloy Ghatak's residence in Asansol. The raid was in connection with the coal scam, under the CBI investigation. On September 7, the probe agency simultaneously raided five other locations in Kolkata, in absence of Ghatak. "As his name surfaced in the coal smuggling scam, we need to find out what was his role in it," said CBI

Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA Srikanta Mahata has received a show cause notice for his remark against celebrity faces in the party. In a major setback to Mamata Banerjee-led TMC, Anubrata Mondal has been sent to 14-days of judicial custody. On August 24, a special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court at Asansol remanded Mondal in connection with the multi-crore cattle smuggling case. The Bahubali of West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, Anubrata Mondal has been sent to the 10-day judicial custody to the CBI, till August 20. The developments came after, Mondal was produced before a special CBI court in Asansol, which ordered police custody. Notably, the Central Bureau of Investigation arrested Trinamool Congress (TMC) Birbhum district president Anubrata Mandal in connection with a cattle smuggling scam.
