Indian Grandmaster Shocks Nation, Beats World No 3 Caruana, Enters Finals Of FIDE World Cup

Indian Grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa registered a stunning victory over world number 3 Fabiano Caruana in the semi-finals of the ongoing FIDE World Cup chess tournament in Baku, Azerbaijan on Monday.  The Indian teenager shocked Caruana 3.5-2.5 via the tie-break in the semifinals. He is now set to face Magnus Carlsen in the final of the tournament that will take place on August 22.

Cricket Tournament For Differently Abled Players Conducted In J&K's Pulwama To Boost Confidence

A cricket competition for differently abled players on July 28 was held in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama, with the goal of boosting their confidence that they can compete at the national and international levels. The tournament's organizer stated, "Our aim is that they should not consider themselves lesser than anybody." A participant in the cricket match stated that their skill is being showcased to the public through this event.

India To Host Street Child Cricket World Cup In 2023

India will be hosting the Street Child Cricket World Cup 2023. The ten-day event, being conducted by Street Child United and Save the Children India, would be held in September next year. Twenty-two teams from 16 different countries would be partaking in the sports tournament. This is the second installment of the event for street children, which was first held in 2019 in England.

India's Young Grandmaster Leon Luke Mendonca won the title at Hungary's 'Rigochess International Festival' tournament. The 14-year-old emerged victorious in six games and drew two, while losing just one game. Securing seven points in nine rounds of the tournament, the Goa-based player won his first round against IM William Paschall and later won 5 games, in which he defeated 2 GMs - Nguyen Huynh Minh Huy and David Bercez.
