Indian Rupee Gains 6 Paise Against Greenback

The domestic currency gained in Asian markets against the greenback. The Indian rupee gained 6 paise to open at 73.02 against the dollar, reflecting a bullish trend in local stocks and sustained foreign capital inflows on September 2. The domestic unit opened at 73.04, rose to 73.02 by gaining 6 paise over its previous closing. The rupee also hit a low of 73.10 during the early trade.

Sri Lanka Designs Road Map In India To Strengthen Trade

A two-year mandate road map has been produced by the Sri Lankan High Commission in India to reinforce allegiance in trade, defense, connectivity, religion, and people. "The sharing of their similar experiences is an ongoing process", the 27-page document said about the similar multi-cultural society of both countries. Visits by Sri Lankan President, PM, Foreign minister to India, and vice versa have also been included in the document.

A cryptocurrency enthusiast said that traders "want to express dissent while making money, and they are doing so."

Samsung, Lenovo To Skip The Mobile World Congress In Barcelona

Several big technology and electronics companies Samsung and Lenovo has planned to miss the World Mobile Congress 2021 scheduled to take place in June in Barcelona. Prioritising the health of its employees, Samsung said it (health) cannot be put at risk. However, the giants have agreed to attend the mobile trade show virtually. Organised by the GSM Association, the MWC was last year cancelled due to pandemic.

Serum Institute To Invest Rs 2,400 Crore, Generate 6,500 Jobs In UK

Vaccine maker the Serum Institute of India will be investing Rs 2,400 crore in Britain to support clinical trials, research and development along with vaccine manufacturing. The deal is a part of the India-UK enhanced trade partnership, which altogether involves an investment of Rs 10,000 crore. According to sources, SII's investment aims to create 6,500 new jobs and intends to generate new business worth over $1 billion in the UK.

25 Crew Members Stuck Aboard Suez Blocker 'Ever Given' Are All Indians

Japan's Shoei Kisen Kaisha, owner of the cargo vessel 'Ever Given' blocking the Suez Canal, has informed that all the crew members aboard the ship are Indians. As per the vessel's management company, all 25 members on board are safe and being taken care of. The ship lodged sideways after it ran aground on March 21, following strong gusts of wind. Reportedly, the blockade is causing a trade-loss of $9 billion every day.
