In Bihar's Buxaur district, a North East Superfast Express derailed, killing 4 people, and left over 80 injured. The incident happened on October 11, at 9:45 pm, confirmed Railways. Getting into details, six bogies of the train derailed, leaving a chaos at Raghunathpur station. Assam CM Himanta Biswas expressed grief and said, they are monitoring the situation closely. Furthermore, rescue team is also at spot for restoration works.

In a shocking incident, 24 patients, including 12 newborns, lost their lives at the Shankarrao Chavan Government Hospital in Nanded due to a severe shortage of medicines and staff. The situation worsened as an additional 70 children found themselves in critical condition, highlighting the dire state of healthcare facilities. The tragedy intensified with the death of seven more lives, taking toll to 31 in Maharashtra's hospital. 

One person died while two others suffered injuries after a fire broke out in Gurugram, Haryana. Ramesh, one of the fire officers, shared, "Ninety percent of the fire has been doused, and the situation is under control." Over thirty-five fire brigade vehicles were rushed to the spot. Earlier last week, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) had described the dumping sites in the national capital and other cities as "time bombs."

Former Bangladesh cricket star Mosharraf Hossain has passed away at the age of 40. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is mourning the loss of the cricketer. Hossain had been diagnosed with brain cancer back in 2019. While he made a recovery after treatment, his condition relapsed in the following year. He had been conferred with the 'Player of the Match' award in the final of the Bangladesh Premier League.
