Andhra Pradesh: 13 Dead, 40 Injured In Andhra Train Accident, Rescue Ops On

Approximately thirteen people died and 40 were injured in a rail accident in Andhra Pradesh after a passenger train overshot the signal and hit another from behind on the Howrah-Chennai line. On October 29, evening, a special passenger train between Visakhapatnam and Palasa was on restricted speed on the main line between Alamanda and Kantakapalle due to no signal when a Vizag-Rayagada passenger train hit it from behind.

Mumbai Local Derails While Entering Kharkopar Station, Zero Casualties Reported

Shivnath Express Derails In Chhattisgarh’s Dongargarh; No Casualties & Injuries Reported

Two bogies of Shivnath Express train derailed at Chhattisgarh’s Dongargarh, on August 23. The train was on its way to Maharashtra’s Nagpur, and no casualties have been reported in the incident. Also, since the train was moving at a slow pace, no passengers were injured in the incident. Reportedly, the incident occurred at around 3:42 am, and by 5:45 am the train started to proceed with its journey.

Guwahati-Bikaner Express' 12 Coaches Derailed In West Bengal

On January 13, at least 12 coaches of Guwahati-Bikaner Express derailed near Domohani, Jailpaiguri region, West Bengal. According to ANI, many people from Assam were traveling in the train, which derailed at 5:00 pm. Indian Railways informed and said, "DRM and ADRM rushed to the site along with accident relief train and medical van". Furthermore, a high level railway commissioner safety inquiry has been ordered in the accident.
