Goods Train Derails In Chhattisgarh; 7 Compartments Including Engine Falls Off Track

In Chhattisgarh's Raigarh district, a goods train derailed at the Jamoagon (JMG) Railway Station, on March 28. Reportedly, seven compartments including the engine derailed from the tracks. No casualties or injuries were reported from the incident. However, the incident caused delay in various passenger trains using the same route. Further details on the matter is awaited.

In Maharashtra's Kolhapur station, a massive fire broke out at 10:00 PM, on December 5. A passenger train stationed at Chatrapati Shahu Maharaj Terminus reportedly caught fire. Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to assist pilgrims in the Char Dham Yatra through its special train. The Yatra has been resumed by the Uttarakhand government on September 18. The Deluxe AC tourist train is launched under the 'Dekho Apna Desh' program to ensure tourists have appropriate amenities. Char Dham Yatra is to last for 16 days. Farmers Protest Continues For 2 Days; Punjab Govt To Hold Meeting With Farm Leaders

Farmers continued to block rail tracks and a national highway in Jalandhar owing to the protest against the hike in sugarcane prices by the Punjab government for continuous two days. Meanwhile, on August 21, 89 trains were cancelled and 54 were diverted. The Punjab government will hold a meeting with the farm leaders. All the 32 farm leaders have joined the protest which will be held for an indefinite period.
