Madras HC Recommends Special Quota In Govt Jobs For Transgenders: Tamil Nadu
The Madras HC strongly recommended special quota reservation in government jobs for 'transgenders'. On March 2, Justice MS Ramesh reviewed a petition filed by Saratha, and directed the government to provide relaxation in fitness tests in few jobs and also asked to revise the upper age limit to 45, instead of 29. The HC passed an order reviewing petitions, asking the TNUSRB to make the recommended changes.

Paintings Of 8 Coimbatore Trans Artists Selected For Exhibition In Florida
As many as eight paintings of transgender artists have been chosen for an exhibition. The exhibition will be held at the University of South Florida, United States of America. Reportedly, the exhibition will be continued for six months from November 20, 2021 to April 20, 2021. One of the artists, Kalki Subramaniam said, "Over 100 trans people from across the world are participating."

Dr. Rachel Levine Becomes Highest-Ranked Transgender Official In US
Dr. Rachel Levine is the first transgender to be appointed as a four-star officer, Assistant Secretary of US Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, for the first time in the country's history. Dr. Levine is already the "highest-ranked" transgender official in the United States, having been nominated by President Joe Biden. During her "swearing-in speech" on October 19, she called the event "historic" and "momentous."

Transgender Buries Baby Girl Alive On Being Denied Gifts By Family
Mumbai police have arrested Kanhaiya Chaugule, a transgender, and his friend on July 9, who were accused of burring a three-year-old girl alive following a dispute with a family over gifts. Reportedly, Chaugule picked the girl in the wee hours of July 9 from the house in Mumbai's Ambedkar Nagar, following the family refused the gifts over the birth of the girl. However, the police have exhumed the body.

Kanpur Man Married To Transgender, Accuses In-Laws Of Cheating
A resident of Shastri Nagar in Kanpur has logged an FIR under Section 420 of IPC against his wife and in-laws.
