Transgenders Qualifies Physical Examination For Constable In India
For the first time in India, transgenders have cleared physical examinations for recruitment in the police. As per sources, four transgender candidates have cleared the physical exam for the post of police constable and will now appear for the written exam on May 7. In total, out of seven lakh candidates, 83,745 have cleared the physical test, of which four are transgenders, who were allowed to appear for examination.

People From Transgender Community To Be Recruited In Police Forces: Odisha
The Recruitment Board for the Odisha's police force has invited applications from people belonging to the transgender community. Reportedly, posts for 477 sub-inspectors and 244 constables have been allotted to them. Aspirants from the transgender community have requested for a moderation in the physical fitness eligibility criteria to compete with the other gender. Assam Becomes 1st State To Launch Vaccination Drive For Transgenders
In a unique initiative, the Assam government has launched a COVID-19 vaccination drive for transgenders in the state. Under this drive, 30 members of the community were vaccinated with the first dose at a shelter home in Guwahati on May 14. With a reported population of 20,000 transgender members in the state, the drive currently functional in Guwahati will be extended to other parts depending on the vaccine supply.

Bengaluru: 3 Transgenders Arrested for Thrashing Individual with Slippers
The Bengaluru police have arrested three transgenders for hitting an individual with slippers when he refused to pay them money. Police inspector from Konanakunte police station stated that there was a verbal argument as the individual refused to pay them. Reportedly, the police took the three accused under custody and further investigation is underway.
