Kolkata Metro Takes 1st Maiden Under River Journey

The most awaited metro, the Kolkata Metro undertook its first maiden under-river journey through a tunnel under the Hooghly river from Mahakaran to Howrah. TSRTC Announces Ladies Special Buses, Marks International Women's Day

On the occasion of Women's Day, the Telangana Government-led TS Road Transport Corporation (RTC) announced a special ladies' bus. On March 4, the TSRTC introduced the 'Ladies Special' daily bus, for girl students and women passengers from various places to the city outskirts. The bus services will be from Uppal to Bogaram via Ghatkesar, Bogaram to Secunderabad via Ghatkesar, LB Nagar to Ibrahimpatnam and Ibrahimpatnam to LB Nagar.

Nitin Gadkari Arrives At Parliament In Hydrogen-Powered Car

Union Road & Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari arrived at the parliament in a hydrogen-powered car, on March 30. The action was to  emphasize on the need of renewable electric vehicles, especially when the nation is witnessing a rise in fuel prices. Gadkari said, soon India will be manufacturing green-hydrogen cars, and establish fuel stations, which will not only help environment and cars, but increase employment in India.

China To Add Over 7000 Civil Passenger Aircrafts In Next 20 Years

The civil aviation transport industry of China is reported to resume rapid growth by adding 7,646 new civil passenger aircraft over the next 20 years. Further, the total number of aircraft in China is likely to reach 5,343 by 2025. Furthermore, as per reports, China will be requiring 640 cargo aircraft in the next 20 years, while the civil helicopters are likely to exceed 10,000 by 2040.

15 Injured, 3 Dead In Collision Between Bus & Lorry In Palani: Tamil Nadu

After a lorry and a TN state transportation Bus collided in the early morning of September 24, fifteen people sustained injuries and three lost their lives in Palani, Tamil Nadu. As per reports, the collision was caused due to the lorry driver falling asleep and losing control of the vehicle. The Police stated that the injured were moved to Palani government hospital, whereas the lorry driver is being investigated.

Kerala's First LNG-Powered Bus Service Available For Commuters

Kerala Transport Minister Antony Raju inaugurated the first green bus service in the state on June 21, at Thiruvananthapuram's major bus terminal. Reportedly, the bus will provide service between Thiruvananthapuram to Ernakulam-Kozhikode routes. However, the initiative will serve two major goals of Kerala State Road Transport Corporation, switching to a cheaper fuel to save up money & less harmful compared to other petroleums.
