CRISIL: Decreasing Exports, Increased Costs To Affect Home Textile Companies' Profitability
According to financial research and rating agency CRISIL, the operating profitability of home textile manufacturers is expected to fall 150-200 basis points (or 1.5-2.0 percentage points) to 13% in fiscal year 2022-23, due to lower export demand and a sharp increase in raw material and transportation costs. Punjab: CM Amarinder Announces Free Travel For Women In State Run Buses
Punjab CM Amarinder Singh on March 31 announced free travel for women in Punjab Roadways Transport Corporation, Punjab Roadways Buses and locally owned city bus services. While the free travel excluded AC, Volvo and HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) buses, the CM claimed of fulfilling 85% of manifesto promises. Moreover, the CM said that while the promise was to reduce the bus tickets for women to 50%, he made it all free.
