Travel Advisory

Concerned over the escalation of hostilities in Ukraine, India advised its citizens to avoid all non-essential travel to and within Ukraine. On October 10, the Government of India asked them to strictly follow the safety and security guidelines issued by the local authorities. The advisory comes hours after Russia carried out strikes against multiple Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv, which killed 10 people and left 60 others injured.

South Korea extended special advisory on overseas travel restrictions amid the global Omicron variant threat. The Foreign Ministry issued a notice regarding the extension until January 13. The ministry also asked people to postpone or cancel their trips, if not necessary. The United States has asked its citizens residing in India to fly back to their nation "as soon as it is safe to do so". In a tweet, the travel department stated, "Access to medical care [in India] is severely limited due to COVID-19 cases. U.S. citizens wishing to depart should use available commercial options now." Further, the advisory suggested the US citizens not to travel to India.
