IndiGo Imposes Flying Ban On LDF Leader, 2 Cong Workers For Misbehaviour Onboard

IndiGo has imposed a flying ban on Kerala's ruling Left Democratic Front's convenor EP Jayarajan, along with two Youth Congress workers after they were involved in a scuffle onboard. The leaders shouted slogans against the Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan, as he was on the same flight, on June 13. The IndiGo aircraft was flying from Kannur Thiruvananthapuram, airport. Notably, the ban has been imposed on July 18, for three weeks.

UAE Imposes Travel Ban On Unvaccinated Citizens From Jan 10

The United Aram Emirates (UAE) imposed travel ban on unvaccinated people. The UAE government, on January 1, tweeted, "Ban on Travel on UAE Citizens unvaccinated with #Covid-19Vaccine, starting Jan 10, 2022, with a requirement to obtain the booster dose for the fully vaccinated". However, medically unstable and exempted people will not be included in the aforementioned order.

WHO Condemns Direct Travel Ban On South Africa: Omicron Scare

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the WHO Chief slammed countries for continuing direct flight ban to Africa, the origin of Covid-19's new variant Omicron. The WHO, on December 5, condemned the travel ban imposed amid Omicron scare and criticised nations for not accepting negative Covid-19 reports of South Africa and demanding "Third Country Report." Canada Bans Travel From 3 African Countries Due To Omicron Variant

Canada on November 30 banned travelers from three African countries over the fear of new coronavirus strain Omicron. ''We are adding three African countries in the list that are Egypt, Nigeria, and Malawi,'' said Jean- Yves Duclos, Health Minister of Canada. He added the passengers, including vaccinated ones, coming from outside Canada, apart from the United States, would now be tested on Canadian airports, reported ANI.

Poland Mandates 14-Day Quarantine For Non-EU Travelers: Omicron Scare

Poland has imposed a mandatory 14-day quarantine for travelers from non-European countries. Health minister Adam Niedzielski announced a ban on flights from seven African countries affected by the Omicron variant of Covid-19. The quarantined travelers will be free to leave if they test negative after eight days, he said. Notably, Poland had a 10-day mandatory quarantine rule, which has now become 14 days.

Israel Announces Travel Ban For Foreigners For 14 Days: Omicron

Amid the concern of COVID-19's Omicron variant, Israel announced a travel ban for foreigners for two weeks in the country. The decision was taken at a corona cabinet meeting on November 27. Israeli citizens who return to the country will have to undergo a COVID-19 test at the airport. Vaccinated citizens need to spend three days in quarantine and unvaccinated ones have to spend seven days in quarantine.
