Triple Talaq Atiya Sarbri Petitioner Wins Alimony Battle
One of the six Triple Talaq petitioners Atiya Sabri from Saharanpur of Uttar Pradesh has won an alimony of Rs 21,000 per month to raise her two daughters after five years. Earlier, Sabri had sent a petition to the Supreme Court to abolish the 1,400-year-old practice in August 2017. Notably, she advocated the ban as it did not give women the same liberty of instant separation as men.

Husband Allegedly Gives Triple Talaq Over Phone From US; Wife Seek Centre's Help
Hyderabad woman has sought centre's help after her husband allegedly gave her triple talaq from US, over the phone. The 24-year-old woman wrote a letter to the Ministry of External Affairs on December 9 seeking justice. According to the woman, her husband hold US citizenship and were married in 2015. "My husband stopped contacting me from October this year, after pronouncing talaq three times without any reason," the victim mentioned.

Maharashtra Woman Accuses Husband Of Giving Triple Talaq Over Phone
In yet another case of triple talaq over a phone call, a 31-year-old woman has filed a police complaint against her husband in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra. According to police, the woman was called by her husband on November 20 and was asked to end their relationship. Reportedly, the 32-year-old man has been booked under the sections of Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Act, 2019.

Madhya Pradesh: Wife Lodges FIR Against Husband After Getting Triple Talaq
The Indore Police on October 5 informed that a woman has filed an FIR against her husband after getting 'triple talaq'. The police officials told that the 27-year-old wife had got the second marriage of her husband cancelled by revealing that he has already been married. Frustrated with this, the 30-year-old man gave his first wife 'triple talaq'. Reportedly, the police has booked the man under various sections.
