Film Director Aisha Sultana Booked Under Sedition, Hate Speech

Lakshadweep Police has registered a case of sedition and hate speech on June 8 against a film director Aisha Sultana. Reportedly, Sultana over a Malayalam channel said that Union Territory's administrator, Praful Khoda Patel is being used as "bio-weapon" at the Island. However, an outrage among the workers broke in Lakshadweep after Sultana's remark and a  BJP leader C. Abdul Khader Raj filed complaint against her.

TRP Scam: Probe Reveals Accused Received Rs 1 Crore In Last One Year

The Mumbai Police informed that one of the accused in the Television Rating Point (TRP) manipulation scam had received over Rs 1 crore in the last one year. Reportedly, the accused, Bomapallirao Mistry, received the amount from four to five individuals. I&B Ministry Asks Private Channels To Strictly Comply With Programme Code

The Information and Broadcasting Ministry on October 9 issued an advisory to private TV channels and warned them to adhere by the 'Programme and Advertising Codes'. The ministry pointed out the rules of the Programme Code and advised the channels to refrain from airing "obscene and defamatory" content. Further, the channels are expected to avoid content which "criticises, maligns or slander any individual in person or certain groups."
