PM Narendra Modi assured India's full support for UAE’s COP-28 presidency as he held productive talks with the UN climate conference's President-designate Sultan Al Jaber here on July 15. Modi arrived here in the capital of the UAE following his successful two-day visit to Paris where he joined French President Emmanuel Macron for the Bastille Day parade as the Guest of Honour and signed several agreements to strengthen bilateral-ties.

Sheikh Khaled's appointment was welcomed by other Gulf rulers including Saudi Arabia and Qatar. With this Sheikh Khaled has become the next leader of the Gulf monarch, fortifying his family's hold on power in the oil-rich country. Notably, UAE president Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan chose his son for the position which has been traditionally held by the leader-in-waiting.

Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL) has announced to invest Rs 75,000 crore in the next five years to expand its petrochemical capacity, informed RIL chairman Mukesh Ambani on August 29. Ambani, while speaking at the company’s annual general meeting, said that the investments will be used in setting up a PTA plant. The money will also be used in expanding polyester capacity, tripling capacity of vinyl chain and a chemical unit.

UAE will go into a 40 period of mourning, with flags flown at half-mast, all government agencies federal, privet entities will suspend work for three days.
