Five low-intensity earthquakes struck Jammu & Kashmir in 12 hours on August 23. There were no casualties or property damage. Bus Skids & Falls Into Gorge In J&K's Udhampur; 8 Children Injured
In J&K's Udhampur district, a bus fell into a gorg, leaving eight children injured, on August 6. The min bus was en route from Barmeen village to Udhampur. Reportedly, the driver lost control, and the bus skidded off the road and fell near Massora. Meanwhile, all the injured have been shifted to a district hospital. Bus Falls Into Deep Gorge In J&K's Udhampur, Leaves 2 Dead & 38 Other Injured
In Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur, a bus fell into a deep gorge in Keya Morh area killing two persons and leaving 38 other injured, on July 7. Following the incident, ambulances rushed to the spot, and 10 injured persons have been shifted to district hospital in Udhampur. Fire Flares Out In The Margana Forest Region Of Udhampur, J&K
A fire started out in Chenani's Margana forest region, in the Udhampur district of Jammu & Kashmir late at night on May 19. Authorities from the forest department, the fire department, and the emergency personnel worked together to put out the fire. Additional information is forthcoming. On May 17, a major fire burst out in Jammu and Kashmir's Niaka, Panjgrain, and Ghambir Mughlan forest regions.

Forest Fire In Udhampur Fears Local Villagers: Jammu & Kashmir
A forest fire broke out in the Udhampur district of Jammu Kashmir on April 30. As of now, the State Disaster Relief Force has joined in rescue operations along with locals to control the fire as villagers fears, the fire will enter the residential area. Furthermore, the range officer said, the fire was doused off but some miscreants lit the fire again. The authority has taken appropriate action against those.

Truck Hits Group Of Protestors In J&K's Udhampur; 3 Dead, 3 Injured
In a tragic incident, a truck rammed into a group of protestors in J&K's Udhampur district, killing three and leaving three others injured, on April 8. The protestors had staged a protest demanding the water supply in the area to be fixed. The truck driver wrongly calculated the blind curve and hit the group of protestors, reported PTI. Reportedly, the injured are being treated, with one in critical condition.

One Dead, 13 Injured In Bomb Blast At Udhampur: Jammu & Kashmir
The Union Minister Jitendra Singh informed about an anonymous blast on March 9, J&K, through his tweet. "Blast explosion around "Rehri" near Tehsildar office at #Udhampur. One life lost, 13 injured being moved to hospital. I am in touch with DC Indu Chib on minute to minute basis. Exact cause and origin of the blast being worked out..too early to draw any definite conclusion," Singh wrote.

Udhampur: Farmers Prefer Aloe Vera over Traditional Crops in Fear of Monkey Menace
Several farmers of the Hartyaran Panchayat of Udhampur district are now preferring Aloe Vera plantation over traditional crops, in order to protect their farms from monkeys. It is said that monkeys hesitate to destroy Aloe Vera unlike other crops. The Central Government has set up a processing unit of the Aloe Vera plants in the Udhampur district of Jammu & Kashmir, to empower local farmers.
