UK Issues Statement Regarding Attack On Indian High Commission

The UK will review the security at the Indian High Commission here following "unacceptable" acts of violence by pro-Khalistan protesters, said Foreign Secretary James Cleverly.  Concerned about such incidents, the UK Government warned of strict action and said, they have taken these matters "very seriously" and would "robustly" respond to such incidents. They would also adapt changes needed to ensure the security of the mission's staff.

HSBC Buys SVB Arms Securing Deposit Of UK Customers

The British government on Monday said it had facilitated a private sale of the UK arm of the collapsed Silicon Valley Bank to HSBC Holdings Plc's 'ring-fenced subsidiary'. With this deal, the Bank of England would help for 1 pound sterling, or around Rs 99. The deal is not expected to impact HSBC's global balance sheet but will sharpen exposure in its home market, securing 3,000 SVB UK customer's deposit.

UK Government Approves Todd Boehly's Takeover Of Chelsea Football Club

The UK government has approved Todd Boehly's proposed purchase of Chelsea Football Club. Nadine Dorries, the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport, revealed she had given a license allowing the agreement on May 24, shortly after it was approved by Premier League. In early March, he put the London club up for sale following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, which Moscow refers to as a "special military operation."

110 Million Pfizer Moderna Doses Ordered For Two Years: UK PM Boris Johnson

The United Kingdom PM Boris Johnson, on December 2, confirmed to have ordered 110 million doses of Pfizer Moderna, vaccine against Covid-19. "Today UK ordered 114 million more Pfizer and Moderna vaccine for next two years, future proofing out lifesaving vaccine program," Ssaid Johnson. In the UK, a total of 27% of the population took booster shots, 76% took first dose and 69% received two doses.
