India Will Surpass UK & Become 3rd Largest Economy By End Of Decade: UK High Commissioner
British High Commissioner to India Alex Ellis said that India will surpass United Kingdom to become the third largest economy in the world by the end of this decade. He then stated that both the nations must work together. He then said that the UK leaving European Union opens a lot of opportunities for the UK to work with India. He said, a Free Trade Agreement will be completed by Diwali.

Large Mob Holds Protest Outside Hindu Temple In England’s Smethwick
In England’s Smethwick, a mob of at least 200 people held a protest outside a Hindu Temple on September 20. Reportedly, the protestors were heard chanting “Allahu Akbar”. This has come following the Hindu-Muslim groups clash that took place in Leicester last week. A video that surface social media, showed a large mob of people marching towards the Durga Bhawan Hindu Centre on Spon Lane.

Indian High Commission In UK Demands Action Against Recent Communal Violence
Following the India - Pakistan cricket match during the T20 World Cup on August 28, communal tensions flared up in Leicester in the UK, between members of the Indian-origin Hindu community. In regard to this, on September 19, the High Commission of India in London condemned the violence perpetrated against the Indian Community in Leicester and sought immediate action against those involved in these attacks.

Canada Announces National Day Of Mourning On Sept 19 Following Death Of Queen Elizabeth II
In Canada’s national capital of Ottawa, a national commemorative ceremony has been scheduled on September 19, to mourn the death of English Queen Elizabeth II. A memorial parade has been planned for that day. Also, 96 gun-salute will be carried out, indicating 96 years of her life. Also, a flypast event will be held, of the Royal Canadian Airforce CF-18s.

Over 50 UK Teens Rush Into Nottingham McDonald’s, Steal Food & Drinks
In UK’s Nottingham, over 50 teenagers stormed into a McDonald’s outlet, and looted everything possible. The incident occurred on August 21, at around 9 pm in Clumber street. Reportedly, the teens were aged between 14 and 16 years. Around 20 of them also abused and threatened the staff. No arrests have been made so far, and the police are investigating the matter.

Sunil Chopra, an Indian-origin businessman, was voted mayor of the London Borough of Southwark for the second time on May 21.
