SC Extends Tenure Of ED Chief Sanjay Kumar Till September 15
In a relief to the Union government, the Supreme Court on July 27, allowed Enforcement Directorate (ED) chief Sanjay Kumar Mishra to continue till September 15 in "larger public interest". Earlier, the Apex Court issued an order and opposed the third term extension of the ED Chief Sanjay Kumar. However, initially the extension was till July 31, which has now been extended to September 15, considering the public interest.

Amit Shah Meets Family Of Police Personnel Died On Duty In J&K
Union Home Minister Amit Shah distributed appointment letters to the next of kin of eight Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty. The development came on the second day of his Jammu & Kashmir visit, on June 24. Shah met with the family members of slain police personnel at the Police Golf Course, overlooking the famous Dal Lake.

Union Minister Vaishnaw Announces Rs 2 Crore For Villages Near Balasore Train Accident
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on June 20, visited the Bahanaga Bazaar, a small station in Balasore district of Odisha where one of India's deadliest train accident happened recently. " I have come to thank the people of Bahanaga village," said Vaishnaw. Anurag Thakur Says, Investigation Underway In Wrestlers' Matter
Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur on Thursday said the Centre was sensitively handling the issue of protesting wrestlers, who are seeking the arrest of outgoing WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh over sexual harassment allegations. Thakur, who is on a visit to Mumbai, told reporters that the government has accepted the wrestlers' demand for a committee to probe their allegations and an investigation was underway.

In a shocking reshuffle, the Union Government led by BJP replaced the Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju and appointed Arjun Ram Meghwal as the new Union Law Minister. India COVID-19 Active Cases Close To 50k With 11,109 New Cases
India COVID-19 cases are on extreme rise with over 11,000 new cases registered in 24 hours. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) confirmed 11,109 new cases, and 29 deaths taking the active cases tally to 49,622 whereas death cases is at 5,31,064. The positive cases rate now at 4.29% whereas fatality rate with over 1.20%. Moreover, the Government of India urged states and UTs to take precautions.

Union Govt Asks State Governments To Ready For COVID-19 Wave
Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Home Minister, chaired a meeting with the concerned officials, amid the rising number of COVID-19. During the high level meeting, the Union Minister asked the state governments to conduct mock drilling at the hospitals and be battle ready for the next wave of the Novel Coronavirus. In 24-hours India registered 6,050 new cases of Covid-19, highest in the past 203 cases.
