Reacting to the recent Manipur violence, resulting in the death of one person, Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, appealed for peace. In a media briefing, Shah said, "I will go to Manipur soon and stay there for three days but before that, both groups should remove mistrust and suspicion among themselves and ensure that peace is restored in the state." Furthermore, he assured justice and asked people to keep faith.
Justice PB Varale of the Bombay High Court was elevated as the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court while Justice AM Magrey, a judge of the Jammu and Kashmir HC, was appointed its chief justice. The Civil Aviation Ministry removed the limits imposed on domestic airfares after a span of approximately 27 months. On August 10, the Ministry tweeted, "The decision to remove air fare caps has been taken after careful analysis of daily demand and prices of air turbine fuel (ATF)." Furthermore, the newly removed airfare caps in upper and lower limits, imposed when the flight services resumed, will in effect from August 31.
