PMO Provides 150 Ventilators From PM Cares To Sardar Patel COVID Center

The Prime Minister’s Office has written to the Union Health Ministry to allot 150 ventilators bought with the help of PM Cares fund to Delhi-based Sardar Patel COVID Care Center. Equipped with GPS devices the machines will be provided on six months loan to the COVID facility jointly run by the ITBP and Delhi government. The PMO also requested for speedy installation of the machines at the 500-oxygen bed facility.

Delhi Health Min Says, Don't Have Sufficient Vaccines To Jab All 18+

Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain on April 29 said that Delhi does not have enough COVID vaccines to inoculate everyone above 18 years. Jain said “We have made requests to the company regarding vaccines, we will tell you when it comes”. Notably, the statement came after Centre said that over one crore vaccines are still available with the states and UTs and 20 lakh additional doses soon delivered to them

COVID-19: Centre Rejects IMA Demand To Vaccinate All Above 18 Years

The Health Ministry on April 6 rejected Indian Medical Association’s request to give COVID-19 jab to anyone above 18 years. The ministry cited that the current vaccination plan is being implemented to minimise deaths. It added that currently people above 45 are being vaccinated as their mortality rate accounted for 88% of total deaths. "The objective... is to vaccinate those who need it," said the Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan.

FSSAI Orders To Drop Trans Fat Levels To 3% In 2021

The Food Safety and Standard Authority of India (FSSAI) has reduced the trans fat levels in the food items from 5% to 3% from January 1, 2021. As per experts, trans fat is formed during the hydrogenation of vegetable oils, and high levels in daily consumption can cause cardiovascular diseases. These are used to increase the life of food items. Moreover, the FSSAI has directed to reduce the levels to 2% in 2022.
