Amit Shah Meets Women Leader During His Manipur Visit

Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a meeting with the women leaders in Manipur. The four-day visit, which started on May 29 was in view of the recent violent attack and killing of people over a fight between communities. Amit Shah To Congress, Why Congress Hate Indian Traditions?

Union Home Minister Amit Shah questioned the Indian National Congress, over the recent "Sengol" controversy. He accused the Congress of reducing the ceremonial sceptre Sengol, which will be installed near the chair of the speaker in the new Parliament building, to a "walking stick". "Why does the Congress party hate Indian traditions?" said Shah. Congress said that there's no evidence of sengol being a symbol of power transfer.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah handed over appointment letters to the kin of four Jammu & Kashmir Police personnel who were killed in terror-related violence in the valley, confirmed officials. On October 5, official said, "The families of four JKP martyrs were given job letters by the home minister at the Raj Bhavan here."
