Rahul Gandhi-led Congress urged President Ram Nath Kovind to take action against the Union Minister's son who is accused of mowing down protesting farmers in Uttar Pardesh. The Congress is reportedly insisting for the dismissal of the Union Minister for a fair probe into the matter. It is to be noted that the family of the deceased farmer also wants the same.
Owing to the by-poll elections in Meghalaya, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has met Former CM Mukul Sangma and Lok Sabha MP Vincent H Pala on October 3. Reportedly, Gandhi met several other leaders including Manish Chatrath, the Indian Congress Committee in charge for Meghalaya. However, the development comes after the ECI announces the elections for three parliamentary and 30 assembly seats across 15 states and Union Territories.

On the occasion of "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav," to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of India's Independence, a Malayalee Community in Canada recreated the famed Kerala Boat Race on August 29. A total of 21 teams including two women teams participated in the race. V Muraleedharan, the Minister of State for External Affairs shared the video on his Twitter account stating "Kerala Boat Race goes global."

Basavraj Bommai visited the national capital on June 30 and met Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Home Minister Amit Shah after being recently appointed as the 23rd chief minister of Karnataka. He is scheduled to meet the Prime Minister on his two-day visit. "Met the Chief Minister of Karnataka Basavaraj Bommai. My best wishes to him and his team in taking the state to newer heights," Amit Shah tweeted.
Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Prakash Javdekar virtually inaugurated the Asia's longest and world's fifth longest high-speed track in Indore's Pithampur. The NATRAX facility is 11.3 kms long and 16 ms wide, with four independent lanes for automotive and components testing. With the new high-speed track, vehicles can now be tested in India, without having to be sent overseas for the same.
On the occasion of International Yoga Day, the Ministry of Culture intends to celebrate at 75 different cultural heritage sites all around the country. A 45-minutes Yoga session, followed by a 30-minute cultural program has been organized by the government & a performance by the award winner at Sangeet Natak Akademi or Zonal Cultural Centres. However, amid the pandemic, only 20 people will be allowed per site at the session.

Union Minister Babul Supriyo on April 25, through Twitter, announced that he and his wife have tested COVID-19 positive. Notably, the minister has tested positive for the second time. Expressing displeasure over missing the opportunity to vote in West Bengal Assembly elections on April 26, Supriyo tweeted, "V Sad that I won't be able to vote in Asansol." He added that he would be right by the BJP candidates "mentally".

Virtually addressing Amazon's Smbhav Summit, Union Transport Minister, Nitin Gadkari said that in few years India will become the foremost manufacturer of Electronic Vehicles. The minister also said that the government is working on hydrogen fuel cell technology to end the use of fossil fuels. Estimating manufacturing of lithium-ion batteries in India over next six months, Gadkari said cost of EVs will come down in next two years.

Come May, water taxi services will become operational in and around Mumbai. The decision has been taken after successful completion of goods-cum-passenger ferry service RoPax, launched in 2020, that witnessed one lakh passengers in 20 weeks between Mumbai and Mandwa. Reportedly, water taxis will have 14 to 45 passenger seats and private players will be running the services. Moreover, it has been planned to run water taxis on 12 routes.
India offers a lower cost of production compared to China in an attempt to make Tesla start their manufacturing unit in the country. This decision comes a week after Tesla registered a company for the imports and sale of cars. Union minister Nitin Gadkari offered Tesla a 'steal of a deal' to boost local manufacturing of electric vehicles (EVs) and other components in-order to cut cost on imports, and lower pollution as well.
