IT Releases Set Of FAQs For Tax Payers With IT Return Deadline By July 31

The Income tax department has issued a set of FAQs (Frequently-Asked Questions) regarding tax payment, especially when the deadline is July 31. In the FAQs, taxpayers' queries while filing their ITRs have been answered. It also said that a taxpayer should check their book of records and provide information in the I-T return. The IT officials said, "The DSC should be linked to the PAN of the taxpayer".

Gold Demand Increases By 43% In April-June Quarter2

The Union minister said, India's gold demand went up by 43% during the April-June quarter, which stood at 170.7 tonnes, higher than the previous 119.6 tonnes. However, considering the inflation factors ahead, including Rupee-USD rates and policy measures consumer sentiments could be hurt, as prices could go up. Notably, India's gold demand increased by 54% during the second quarter to Rs 79,270 crore, compared to Rs 51,540 crores.

Active Covid-19 Cases Tally Crosses 1 Lakh Mark With 18,889 New Cases: India

The Indian Covid-19 active cases cross the 1-lakh mark (1,04,555), with 18,819 new cases in the past 24-hours. On June 30, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare also confirmed 39 fatalities, taking the death tally to 5,25,116 and recovered cases to 4,28,22,493, till date. Rajnath Singh Launches New Defence Recruitment Scheme

The Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh launched a new defence recruitment model called the 'Agnipath', on June 14.  The new model kicked in after Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) and Union Cabinet approved the new proposal scheme for armed forces. 34 Non-Kashmiris Purchase Land In UT, Says Union Ministry

During Rajya Sabha proceedings on March 29, Union Home Ministry reported that 34 non-residents from outside Jammu & Kashmir purchased land/assets in the UT. The statement came as a response to BSP leader's query. "The properties are located in Jammu, Reasi, Udhampur, and Ganderbal districts," said Union Minister Nityanand Rai.  Notably, before the revocation of Article 370, the purchase of land/assets for non-locals was not possible.

Cybercrime Increases By 11% With Over 50,000 Cases: NCRB

National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB) reported 11% rise in cybercrime, in 2020. On February 10, the Union Home Ministry panel said, in 2020, a total of 50,035 cases of cybercrime were registered, compared to 44,735 cases in 2019. The panel noted that states like Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan does not have a single cybercrime cell, whereas AP, Karnataka and UP has one cell, advising the MHA to ensure setup.

Union Govt To Extend Kisan Credit Scheme To Fishermen

India Records 35,342 New Covid Cases, 483 Deaths In 24 Hours

India reported 35,342 fresh Covid-19 cases and 483 deaths in the last 24 hours, the health ministry said. Over 54 lakh vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours which takes the data to a total of 42.34 crore vaccines so far, the ministry added. India's recovery rate stands at 97.36%. The total number of people recovered from the virus stands at 3,04,68,079.
