UPSC Aspirants Seek Extra Attempts To Clear Their Leftout Exams

UPSC told the Supreme Court that a petition was filed by three aspirants who cleared their 2021 prelims exam but could not appear for all the papers due to testing positive for COVID-19. The students are now seeking an extra attempt to appear for the exams. The petitioners sought directions for the UPSC to arrange the other exams before the results. Meanwhile, the court adjourned the matter to March 21.

UPSC Inspiration Story: Pooja Kadam Clears CSE With 15% Eyesight

UPSC 2020 result was announced on September 25. Shubham Kumar got All India-1st rank. Pooja Kadam from Maharashtra Latur district secured 577th rank in UPSC Civil Services Exam. The 30-year-old secured this rank in her second attempt, with just 15% eyesight. She has graduated from Fergusson College in Pune and completed her post-graduation in Political Science from Indira Gandhi National Open University, Delhi.

UPSC Announces Revised Interview Schedule For CSE 2020

The Union Public Service Commission on June 9 announced the revised interview schedule of Civil Services Examination 2020 to be held from August 2. The commission will issue the e-summon letters on their official website upsc.gov.in shortly. Also, the body cleared that requests for change in date and time for the personality test will not be entertained. Earlier scheduled from April 26, the interview was delayed due to COVID second wave.

Govt Gives Extra Chance To UPSC Candidates Who Missed Last Attempt In 2020

In a bid to respite the UPSC candidates who missed their last attempt in 2020 due to COVID-19, the Union has agreed to give an extra chance. Reportedly, the Centre’s move will benefit around 3,300 students without even increasing their age-limit. However, the government agreed to give the extra trial only to age-barred students in front of a Supreme Court bench that heard the plea filed by UPSC aspirant Rachna Singh.

USPC Announces Prelims Results 2020

The Union Public Service Commission declared the results of UPSC Prelims Exam on October 23. All selected candidates will further have to apply for Civil Services (Main) Examination between October 28 to November 11, 2020. The main exam is scheduled to be held on January 8, 2021. The candidates can check the results on the commission's website, the Prelims exam was held earlier on October 4.

Jammu: Women Found Dead In Reasi After Failing To Appear In UPSC Exam

A 25-year-old woman, who was supposed to appear for the UPSC exams in Jammu on October 4, was found dead in Reasi district, Jammu on October 5. The family of the deceased, Sonam Manhas, had lodged a missing complaint at the Parade police post after she did not return home. They also informed that she had failed to clear the Kashmir Administrative Services(KAS) exams. The police are awaiting postmortem results.

UPSC Prelims Examination to Be Held on October 4; SC Rejects Plea to Postpone

The Supreme Court, on September 30, refused to postpone the UPSC Prelims Examination, scheduled for October 4. The Court, however directed the Centre to decide at the earliest, if there could be any relaxations for candidates who are giving their last attempt and age-bar candidates who cannot apply for exams next year. SC also instructed to allow inter-state travel for the candidates and directed UPSC to follow all the COVID-related SOPs.
