IPS Abhishek Pallava, doctor-turned-police officer is an inspiring story to those aspiring to become an IPS officer and clear UPSC. Pallava, a graduate of Delhi AIIMS with a postgraduate degree, found his calling in the Indian police and decided to switch his career from a doctor to a police officer. Native of Bihar's Begusarai area, Pallava started his UPSC journey in 2012 and is currently posted in Chhattisgarh.

Rajasthan: Girl Preparing For UPSC Commits Suicide, Investigation Underway
A girl, preparing for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination in Rajasthan's Hanumangarh allegedly died by suicide. The police said that the deceased had been living in a girls' hostel with other girls since June and was taking online classes in preparation for UPSC. We have sent the body for post-mortem and have registered a morgue based on a report given by her father, launching an investigation.

HC Rejects Petition Filed to Disclose UPSC Answer Sheet
A UPSC aspirant had cleared the prelims but was unsuccessful in the mains, and filed a petition in the Delhi HC, seeking to disclose the UPSC Answer Sheet. However, on June 14, the court ruled that the answer sheets could be disclosed only if it is in the public interest, which the petitioner failed. The bench also cited previous judgments and emphasised that public interest must be established for such disclosure.

SC Grants 1 More Chance To UPSC Aspirants Who Missed Attempt Due To COVID-19
Supreme Court bench led by Justice AM Khanwilkar disposed a plea filed by three UPSC aspirants who missed their attempt due to COVID-19 pandemic. The court directed the authorities to reconsider the representation of the UPSC aspirants who got deprived of the attempt, due to COVID-19. The petitioners in their plaint, requested the court to grant them compensatory attempt, to clear the exam.

Viresh Kumar Bhawra Becomes New DGP Of Punjab
Punjab government under the leadership of Charanjit Singh Channi has decided to appoint Senior IPS officer Viresh Kumar Bhawra as the new director general of police of Punjab. Bhawra is an IPS officer of the 1987 batch, reported PTI. He will hold the office for two years from the date of assumption, as per the government's order. He will replace the current DGP Siddharth Chattopadhyaya.

Civil Services Main Examination To Begin As Schedule: UPSC
Civil Services (Main) Examination 2021 is scheduled to begin from January 7. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on January 5, released a statement and said, the Civil Services examination for 2021 will be conducted as per schedule, January 7, 8, 9, 15 and 16. The decision was taken considering the COVID situation and asked State Government to ensure no inconvenience should be there for students.

Bihar Govt To Give Rs 1 Lakh To Girls Who Clear Prelims Of UPSC, BPSC
To empower women in society, the Bihar government decided to provide Rs 1 lakh through scholarships to the women of the general category who clears the preliminary exams for Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and Bihar Public Service Commissions (BPSC). Women who cleared the 2021 exams can fill online applications for the benefit till December 3. Notably, the scheme is already open for SC, ST, and OBC women candidates.

UPSC To Hold Recruitment Exam On Sept 5
A recruitment exam will be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for Enforcement Officer or Accounts Officer in the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Ministry of Labour and Employment on September 5. There are a total of 421 vacancies. The admit card of the exam will be available on their website. The exam will be held between 10 am to 12 noon. Maintaining Covid protocols are mandatory.
