Djokovic Enters US Open Quarterfinals Despite Rough Start

Serbian Tennis player Novak Djokovic beat American wildcard Jenson Brooksby on September 6 at the US Open to make his way in the quarterfinals. As Djokovic chased his 21st major and a calendar-year Grand Slam, he struggled against Brooksby, the 99th ranked player who threw a challenging start. However, for the second time in a row, the world's number one struggled to keep going in the first set.

Naomi Osaka Wins 2nd AO Title; Defeats Brady 6-4, 6-3

Japan's Naomi Osaka won her second Australian Open (AO) title by defeating US' Jennifer Brady 6-4, 6-3 on February 20. The victory came as Osaka's fourth grand-slam title win, with two US Open titles and an AO title in 2019. Moreover, the 22-year-old maintained her 100% record in Grand Slam finals and is on a 21-match unbeaten streak. Reportedly, Osaka now reigns AO with a 22-4 record and 14 straight Grand Slam match wins.

French Open: Benoit Paire Reveals Mixed COVID Results Drained Him Mentally

French tennis player Benoit Paire, after winning the match against South Korea's Kwon Soonwoo 7-5, 6-4, 6-4 in the first round of the French Open confessed that he was mentally exhausted after encountering mixed COVID results. Djokovic Disqualified From US Open After Hitting A Line Judge Accidentally

Djokovic has been disqualified from US Open after he accidentally hit a lines-woman on her throat, while playing his 16th round. He was trailing by 5-6 in the first set against Spanish opponent, Carreno Busto. After discussion, referee declared the Spaniard as winner by default. Djokovic was looking for the 18th Grand Slam title in US Open 2020 and close the gap on Federer and Nadal, both absent from the tournament.
