The Uttar Pradesh government under the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme will be constructing the state's maiden handicrafts park in sector 29 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YIEDA). The total cost of setting up the park is estimated to be Rs 403 crore. 76 industrialists from different sectors will set up factories in the 50 acres of land area, thus providing permanent jobs to 22,144 people in the state. 

The Uttar Pradesh government has proposed a draft bill for the Population Control Act that debars violators of the two-child policy from government schemes and offers incentives to couples with a single child. The bill includes limiting ration card units to four and barring the violators from contesting elections and applying for government jobs. Besides, the draft bill touched upon the provision in polygamy and polyandry.

Tracing Bareilly's Jhumka chowk, Uttar Pradesh's Pilibhit on February 16 constructed its 'Bansuri Chowk' at the city's entry point. Paying homage to Pilibhit's relevance as a 150-year-old flute manufacturing hub, the Chowk houses a colossal metallic flute replica supported by a pair of hands.
