Class VIII Student Commits Suicide
A class 8 student committed suicide at a hostel of a room of a Government Residential School in Uttar Pradesh's Basti, confirmed the police on February 20. The boy was found hanging inside his hostel room. He rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared that he was 'brought dead'. Following this, the police were informed and the body was sent for post-mortem examination and launched an investigation,

Teen's Body Found, Rape Suspected; Congress Criticises Police's Role
In Uttar Pradesh's Auraiya district, A 17-year-old girl's naked body was found in a millet field, confirmed police on October 4. The girl's family has alleged that she was raped and murdered, which has now taken a political turn. Notably, Congress uploaded a video on its Twitter handle, saying the police were "running away" with the body. However, the police denied the allegations, saying an investigation is underway.

Police Arrests 3 Youths For Alleged Rape Of 20 Year Old Girl: Uttar Pradesh
Three men, Lucky, Sanjay and Rajendra, in connection with the alleged rape of a 20-year-old girl at a factory in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, confirmed police on September 2. As per the victim's FIR, the accused allegedly called her on the pretext of overtime and raped her on August 28. Moreover, they threatened the victim with dire consequences if she disclosed her sexual abuse. An investigation into the matter is underway.

UP Youth Kidnaps 2 Minors, Rapes & Murders Nine Year Old
In Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad, two girls, aged nine and six, respectively were allegedly abducted. On August 19, the police confirmed murder and rape of the nine-year-old girl, whose body was found in a field with blood stains on her clothes. The six-year-old managed to escape, and registered a case against a youth, a resident of girl's village, who has been arrested and confessed the crime, said SSP Muniraj G.

Criminal With Reward Of Rs 50,000 Arrested During Intensive Checking In UP
A criminal carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 was injured in an encounter here and subsequently arrested, confirmed the Uttar Pradesh on August 15. As per PTI, the encounter took place in Jagannathpur village in the Gopiganj police station area. The arrest was made during an intensive checking, in then view of Independence Day. Notably, the wanted criminal has been identified as Rajesh Gaur (36).

Woman Kills Husband Over Quarrel, Buries Body : Uttar Pradesh
In Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur, a woman allegedly killed her husband and buried her body in their house, confirmed police. The incident happened on August 7, after a heated quarrel when the accused killed Govind at Khamaria village. The matter came to light after locals started getting the foul smells and reported it to the police. However, the woman told the police that her husband died by suicide.

In Ghaziabad, woman named Preeti Sharma, a divorcee, slits the throat of his live-in partner in rage, arrested by police on August 8. Preeti was staying with Firoz alias Chwanni (23) and was pressuring him for marriage. However, Firoz refused to marry her, which led to a heated argument and brutal murder.
