In Uttar Pradesh, a Maulana in a Madrasa (Islamic seminary) stands accused of committing a heinous crime against a female student. The Maulana allegedly administered drugs to the unsuspecting victim before subjecting her to a horrific act of rape. He further recorded the whole incident traumatizing the victim. The recent crime at an education institute like Madrasa raised concerns of security, especially of female students.

Schools have been shut across various districts of Uttar Pradesh following heavy downpour in the northern states of India. The IMD has also issued an alert in the affected areas.
