Doors Of Badrinath Temple Opens With Adherence To COVID Protocols
The doors of Badrinath Temple opened on May 8, with flowers, light decorations, and the joy of devotees. The doors opened days after Kedarnath Temple, which opened on May 6. The annual Chardham Yatra began on May 3. According to the Uttarakhand Government, 15,000 pilgrims are allowed daily at Badrinath temple, with a negative Covid-19 test report and vaccination certificate. Notably, the Char Dham Yatra started on May 3, 2022.

Char Dham Yatra Cancelled, The Devasthanam Board Organises Virtual Yatra
The Char Dham yatra was cancelled due to the COVID-19 surge in the country. However, the Char Dham Devasthanam board has planned a virtual visit for the devotees. Amid pandemic, the local population is also prohibited in the temples. Dilip Javalkar, Uttarakhand Tourism Secretary asserted that the outline of the virtual tour is being fixed. This will take the devotees through Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri Dhams virtually.

Uttarakhand To Host First Snow Leopard Tour In February
To promote wildlife conservation, Uttarakhand Tourism is organizing the first-ever snow-leopard tour in Harsil village on the banks of the Bhagirathi river in February. The tourism body has informed the entry would be on a first-come-first-served basis.
