Uttarkashi Avalanche: Death Toll Rises To 19, Search & Rescue Underway
The death toll in the Uttarkashi Avalanche tragedy has risen to 19 as of October 7. A team of mountaineers climbing the Draupadi Ka Danda-II mountain peak got stranded after an avalanche struck on October 4. Since then, rescue operations have been underway. Personnel from Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM) are currently working in rescue missions.

Uttarkashi Avalanche: 8 More Rescued, 4 Confirmed Dead
In Uttarakhand’s Draupadi Ka Danda-II mountain peak, following an avalanche, eight more mountaineers have been rescued on October 5. Reportedly, the trapped mountaineers were airlifted to Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). With this, around 14 trapped mountaineers have been rescued, and they are veiny treated at Uttarkashi’s Matli. Meanwhile, four mountaineers have been confirmed to have lost their lives in the avalanche.

Pauri Bus Accident Death Toll Rises To 32, CM Pushkar Dhami Condemns Loss
Uttarakhand bus accident death toll rose to 32, whereas 20 people were left injured, confirmed Pauri police official, on October 5. On the evening of October 4, a bus with over 40-45 people fell into a gorge in Pauri's Dhomkut region. Uttarakhand's Pauri Bus Accident KIlls 25 People, Police Conducts Rescue
In Uttarakhand's Pauri bus accident, 25 people were killed, on the incident took place on the evening of October 4. The incident occurred at 7:30 pm, in the Birokhal area of the Dhumakot region, confirmed Deputy General of Police Ashok Kumar. Furthermore, police and SDRF launched a rescue operation and rescued 21 people overnight, shifting the injured to nearby hospitals. Moreover, a case is registered and an investigation is underway.

Accident Reported In Uttarakhand's Pauri; Rescue Operation Underway
In Uttarakhand's Pauri district, heavy casualties were feared as a bus carrying around 45-50 members of a marriage party fell into a gorge in the Bironkhal area of Uttarakhand's Pauri district. The incident happened on the evening of October 4, the disaster control room confirmed. Notably, the bus was on its way to a village in Bironkhal from Laldhang when it met with the accident near the Simri bend.

Ankita Bhandari Case: 2 Vehicles Used In Crime Recovered By SIT
In the ongoing investigation of Ankita Bhandari murder case, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the matter has recovered two vehicles used in the crime. The vehicles were reportedly recovered from the resort in Rishikesh, where Ankita used to work. DIG P Renuka Devi said that the vehicles have been identified using CCTV cameras. In the Uttarakhand teen murder case, the forensic team confirmed to have all evidence in the Ankita Bhandari murder case. "All evidence found there being used in forensic investigation is safe; further probe underway," said the team, on September 26. Notably, after the murder incident, the Vanatara resort, owned by BJP Leader's son Pulkit Arya, was demolished on September 24, amid illegal construction.

SDRF Rescues 5 Persons Stranded On Island In Dehradun’s Sahaspur: Uttarakhand
In Uttarakhand’s Dehradun, the State Disaster Relief Force (SDRF) has rescued five persons who were stranded on an island in Sahaspur river. The rescue operation was initiated after SDRF received a call about the same. Reportedly, persons were stranded on the island after water levels of the river increased due to rainfall. The stranded persons were then brought back to shore using a raft.
