Uttarkashi Avalanche: Death Toll Rises To 19, Search & Rescue Underway
The death toll in the Uttarkashi Avalanche tragedy has risen to 19 as of October 7. A team of mountaineers climbing the Draupadi Ka Danda-II mountain peak got stranded after an avalanche struck on October 4. Since then, rescue operations have been underway. Personnel from Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM) are currently working in rescue missions.

Uttarkashi Avalanche: 8 More Rescued, 4 Confirmed Dead
In Uttarakhand’s Draupadi Ka Danda-II mountain peak, following an avalanche, eight more mountaineers have been rescued on October 5. Reportedly, the trapped mountaineers were airlifted to Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). With this, around 14 trapped mountaineers have been rescued, and they are veiny treated at Uttarkashi’s Matli. Meanwhile, four mountaineers have been confirmed to have lost their lives in the avalanche.

Mudslide In Uttarkashi Leaves 5 Women Buried Under Debris; CM Dhami Sends Chopper For Rescue
Due to a mudslide in Uttarkashi's forest in Naugaon, give women were buried under the debris, on June 23. Soon after the incident, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami sent out a "government helicopter" for the rescue. While one woman succumbed to her injuries on the way, four others are being treated at AIIMS, Rishikesh. CM Dhami further stated that he wishes for their speedy recovery.

In Uttarkashi's Gangotri National Park, one of the rare wild snow-leopard was spotted wandering on March 5. As per the reports, the leopard, which was spotted is claimed to be an endangered species. However, the leopard of this kind is still under positive radar of being conserved and serves an unequivocal hope.

Security Beefed Up Ahead Of Polling In Uttarakhand
The Chief Electoral Officer of Uttarakhand, Sojanya said that the security arrangements have been made at 11,697 polling booths. She further added, all the arrangements and preparations have been made in Uttarakhand. "The polling party has been sent to Uttarkashi and Pithoragarh and the rest will be sent today," said Sojanya. Earthquake Of 4.1 Magnitude Hits Uttarkashi District: Uttarakhand
The National Center for Seismology on February 12, said a 4.1 magnitude earthquake jolted the city of Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi district at 5:03 AM. The epicenter of the quake is reported to be 28 kilometers from the depth of the earth. "Earthquake of Magnitude: 4.1, occurred on February 2, Lat: 30.72 & Long: 78.85," the NCS tweeted. So far, no reports of deaths and damage to property have been reported.

Earthquake Of Magnitude 3.6 Hits Uttarkashi: Uttarakhand
The National Center for Seismology on February 5, said a 3.6 magnitude earthquake jolted the city of Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi district at 3:15 AM. The epicenter of the quake is reported to be 58 km northwest of Uttarkashi and 10 kilometers from the depth of the earth. So far, no reports of deaths and damage to property have been reported.
