Forest Department Builds A "Eco-Bridge" To Help Reptiles Cross Busy Highway 

In a unique initiative taken by the Uttarakhand Forest Department, a 90-foot long 'eco bridge' has been erected to help reptiles cross the busy highway. The bridge has been made using grass, jute, and bamboo under 10 days in the Ramnagar forest division, on the main route to Nainital. The forest is home to various species of snakes, monitor lizards, monkeys, and squirrels, which were often killed by high-speed vehicles.

Uttarakhand Mandates COVID Test For Air Passengers Arriving From Delhi

The Uttarakhand government has mandated COVID-19 tests for all air passengers who will be coming to the state from Delhi. As per the order, the passengers will be tested at Dehradun's Jolly Grant Airport. The move came in response to a sudden spike in COVID-19 cases in Delhi. India's First Ever Moss Garden Inaugurated At Uttarakhand's Nainital

India now has its very first moss garden, which was recently inaugurated at Nainital district of Uttarakhand. The garden was inaugurated by Ramon Magsaysay awardee Rajendra Singh who is popularly known as 'Water Man of India'. With an area of about 10 hectares, the garden will be a tourist spot and home to around 30 different species of moss. It aims to conserve the species and spread awareness about them.

Uttarakhand Becomes the First State To Offer Free WiFi In State-Run Colleges

Uttarakhand government launched a free WiFi service for all the government colleges and universities, making it the first state to do so. CM Trivendra Singh Rawat initiated the service in his constituency, Doiwala on November 8. Rawat said, this will play an important role in education and will be a big step towards PM Modi's Digital India Initiative. The scheme will be beneficial for the students throughout the state, he added.
