WHO Claims Effectiveness Of Monkeypox Vaccinations Less Than 100%

Vaccines against monkeypox are not 100% effective, therefore individuals must limit their own risks of infection, according to WHO technical chief Rosamund Lewis on August 17. This comes as more than 35,000 instances of monkeypox have been documented in more than 92 countries, with the illness responsible for 12 fatalities. Last week, about 7,500 cases were recorded, a 20% rise over the previous week.

India Covid-19 Active Cases Increases to 83,990 With Over 13k New Cases

India's active Covid-19 cases tally rises to 83,990 with 13,313 new cases, registered in the past 24 hours. On June 23, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) also confirmed 38 fatalities, taking the total to 5,24,941. Monkeypox Virus Name To Be Modified, Pre-Exposure Vaccination Not Necessary: WHO

World Health Organization (WHO) released interim regulations on the spread of monkeypox, which include vaccine recommendations. India registered 2,706 new Covid-19 cases, taking the active case tally to 17,698, on May 30. India registered 2,828 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, taking the overall tally to 17,087 till May 29. Furthermore, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) also confirmed 14 deaths and 2,035 recoveries. With this, India has 4,26,11,370 recoveries and  5,24,586 deaths.
