National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (NTAGI) suggested reduction of gap between two doses of Covishield. Centre Releases Covid Vaccination Guidelines For 12-14 Years-Of-Age
The Centre, on March 15, released guidelines for COVID-19 vaccination for children between the age of 12-14 years. Haryana To Reopen Schools For 10-12 Classes From Feb 1

3.33 Lakh New COVID-19 Cases Reported In Last 24 Hours: India
India reported 3,33,533 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking active cases to 21,87,209. In addition, India reported 525 deaths taking the overall tally to 4,89,409. The daily positivity rate has dropped from 17.94% to 17.22%. The nation administered over 161.87 crore vaccine doses and over 70 lakh booster doses till date. Meanwhile, The overall count of the Omicron variant reached 10,050 with 29 states, on January 23.

Bihar Man Takes 12 Doses Of COVID-19 Vaccine; Says 'Feeling Energetic'
Amid the rumours of the COVID-19 vaccine's side effects among some people, the 84-year-old Brahmadeo Mandal in Bihar's Madhepura took 12 doses of the vaccine. He said, dozen doses helped him to recuperate with ''his chronic back pain''. Reportedly, he took all the doses within a year using different ID cards. However, the district health department ordered probe in this matter for violating the vaccine administration rule of India.

Students To Be Barred From School Without 1st COVID-19 Dose: Bangladesh
Without getting the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, Bangladesh students (12 to 17 years old) won't be allowed to return to school, Education Ministry clarified on January 6. The rule applies to the children, eligible for first COVID-19 dose. Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul-Islam said, adding seperate instructions are in place for college/university students. Islam further said that they are pushing people to get the vaccine doses.

Israel Approves 4th Shot Of COVID-19 Vaccine For People Over 60: PM Bennett
Israel PM Naftali Bennett on January 2, approved the fourth dose of COVID-19 vaccine to medical staff and people over 60 due to the spread of the Omicron variant. The vaccine is developed by Pfizer and it is said to be a new layer of defense. People who received the third dose at least four months ago are reportedly eligible to take the fourth dose.

Over 3 Lakh Kids Registered On Day 1 For Vaccine On Co-WIN Portal
As the Co-WIN portal opened for registration, 3,26,591 lakh children aged between 15 to 18 registered themselves for the COVID-19 vaccine administration till January 1, 11:59 pm. The vaccine administration at the center will start from January 3 onwards. However, the Union government also allowed walk-in registration. Notably, the government has said that ''children born in 2007 and earlier shall be eligible to receive the vaccine''.

US CDC Panel To Discuss Blood Clot Issues Due To Johnson and Johnson Vaccine
Amid the persistent blood clot issues with the use of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) expert advisers will meet on December 16 to discuss limiting the use of it. 108 Countries Recognizes India's Covid-19 Certificate For Travel: Govt
Almost 108 countries have recognized India's Covid-19 vaccination for travel purposes. Bharati Pravin Pawar, the Minister of State for Health, informed the Lok Sabha on December 10.
