Fire At Saree Factory In Varanasi Claims Lives Of 4 Workers

In a tragic incident, four persons were killed due to a massive fire that broke out at a saree factory in Varanasi, on April 14. While the workers were cooking food, synthetic materials kept nearby caught fire. The fire was doused and the bodies have been sent for post mortem, reported PTI. UP CM Yogi Adityanath has announced an ex-gratia amount of Rs 4 lakh to the family of deceased.

EC Orders Action Against Varanasi ADM Over Election Rules Violation

The Election Commission ordered action against ADM of Varanasi NK Singh over allegations of transferring EVM machines, ahead of UP 2022 Poll results. The orders came on March 9, a day after the SP President Akhilesh Yadav's allegations on Varanasi ADM for transferring EVMs, without informing locals. As per sources, the EC asked UP Chief Election Officer to take strict actions against Singh for violating rules.

Varanasi Teachers Conduct Pink Rallies To Create Voting Awareness: UP Elections

In Uttar Pradesh, teachers of varanasi took out "pink rallies" to create voting awareness amongst voters, on February 24. Ahead of the fifth- phase of UP elections, teachers wearing pink outfits, riding pink scooters launched the rallies, asking voters, especially women to perform their franchise and vote. They started from police cross line, Varanasi and will end at the same point, covering 10 km. Fifth-phase election are on February 25.

PM Narendra Modi To Interact With BJP Workers In Varanasi: UP Elections

Ahead of the UP elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually interact with BJP workers in Varanasi, on January 18 at 11 am. After the announcement of the election, this will be the PM's first political interaction. Meanwhile, all the physical rallies have been suspended till January 22, due to Covid-19. Varanasi-Howrah Bullet Train Project To Cover 5 Cities In Bihar

Indian Railways has sped up the process to launch the upcoming bullet train project on the Varanasi-Howrah route after the launch of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train project. The route would connect five Bihar cities such as Buxar, Arrah, Patna, Bihar Sharif, and Nawada. The train will run on the 760km long high-speed rail corridor. It is likely to run at a speed of 350 km per hour.

PM Modi To Gift Projects Worth Rs 2,095.67 Crore To Varanasi Ahead Of UP Elections

PM Modi will reportedly introduce development projects worth Rs 2,095.67 crore in his parliamentary constituency (Varanasi), on December 23, ahead of the UP assembly elections. PM Modi is expected to lay the foundation stones of five projects worth Rs 1,225.51 crore, which includes 'Banas Dairy Sankul' (worth Rs 475 crore). He will also transfer Rs 35.19 crore to more than 1.7 lakh milk producers, as bonuses.

PM Narendra Modi, on December 13, inaugurated Kashi Vishwanath Corridor in Uttar Pradesh's holy city Varanasi. Constructed worth Rs 339 crores, it will connect Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Ganga Ghat, to ease travel for pilgrims. The PMO took to Twitter and shared pictures of the inauguration event. Besides, PM Modi is also scheduled to launch Kashi Vishwanath Dham, attend Ganga Aarti and attend a conclave on December 14.
