Bihar Hospital Finally Installs 25 Ventilators Received 9 Months Ago

Provided under the PM CARES Fund nine months ago, the 25 ventilators have now been installed at the Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) in Bihar on May 24. However, the hospital officials stated that the scarcity of oxygen supply and other technical issues caused the delay in the installation of ventilators. Meanwhile, two patients have been placed on the newly-installed ventilators.

Japan Promises To Give 300 Oxygen Generators, Ventilators To India

Japan has joined the list of countries helping India in its COVID crisis, as it announced, on April 30, to provide 300 oxygen generators and ventilators to India. Japan's Ambassador to India Satoshi Suzuki tweeted, "Japan stands with India in her greatest time of need". India’s foreign secretary Harsh Shringla expressed happiness for Japan's gesture saying that Japan has offered several pharmaceutical products as well in times of need.

France Promises To Aid India With Oxygen Generators, Ventilators

France has also extended its support to India's fight against the pandemic as it announced to supply COVID-related assistance to India at the earliest. The French government on April 26 stated it would provide eight high-capacity oxygen generators, liquid oxygen for 2,000 patients for five days and 28 ventilators. It added that all the necessities will be transported via air and sea routes by this week's end.

Australia To Send Immediate Support Package To India For COVID Crisis

The Australian Health Minister Greg Hunt on April 26 said that Australia will send oxygen, PPE and ventilators to India as part of an immediate support package. Moreover, to discuss the further assistance to India, the National Security Committee of Cabinet will meet on April 27. Meanwhile, looking for minimising the risk of infection spread, Australia might impose a temporary flight ban from India.
