ECI Announces Election Schedule For Vice President Post

The Election Commission of India (ECI) on June 29, announced the election schedule for the Vice President of India, which is on August 6.  The official notification to decide the successor of VP Venkaiah Naidu will be issued on July 5. Furthermore, the last date to file nominations is on July 19, whereas scrutiny and withdrawal is on July 20 and 22, respectively. Results will be announced on August 6.

The Chairman Rajya Sabha M. Venkaiah Naidu on November 30 rejected to reconsider the suspension of 12 Members of Parliament (MPs) of opposition parties.
