World No.1 Ashleigh Barty Wins Australian Open Women's Title
Australia's Ashleigh Barty won the Australian Open women's title by defeating Danielle Collins of USA in the finals, on January 28. She defeated Collins by 6-3, 7-6. Notably, the victory is Barty's third Grand Slam title after winning Roland Garros in 2019 and Wimbledon last year. Barty is the first woman in 44 years to hold an Australian singles trophy, since Chris O'Neil's win.

Australia Wins Ashes 4-0, Beats England In 5th Test
Australia defeated England by 146 runs in the fifth Ashes test at Blundstone Arena on January 16. The team managed to win the five-match Ashes with 4-0.
