Chhattisgarh Woman Dies After Face Off With Wild Boar
In Chhattisgarh, a woman died after giving a tough fight to a wild boar. On February 26, a woman Duvashiya Bai (45,) died due to serious injuries sustained after a face-off with the wild boar at a farmland near Korba district. The woman was fetching soil with her 11-year-old daughter, when the wild boar attacked. The woman fought the boar to save her daughter Rinki.

Over 18 Lakh People Affected By Assam Floods; 54 Casualties; 2,930 Villages Submerged
According to Assam State Disaster Management Authority on June 17, nine additional people perished in Assam as a result of the flood, bringing the death toll to 54. The flood catastrophe has affected 18.94 lakh people in 28 districts. There are presently 2,930 villages under water. Flood waters have inundated 43338.39 hectares of farmland in flood-affected regions. The water level of a few rivers has risen over the danger limit.

Cashew Shaped Eggs Laid By Karnataka Hen Goes Viral, Stuns Internet
In Karnataka's Laila village, a hen led some 10 cashew-shaped eggs. The bizarre incident left villagers stunned, and also went viral on social media platforms. When asked about the reason, the owner of the hen Prashanth said, “After three continuous days of abnormally shaped eggs, we took the hen to the vet. Apparently, there is some issue either with her shell gland or there are worms in her reproductive organs".

2 Arrested For Lynching 26-Year-Old Youth In Tripura Village
Another lynching incident was reported in Tripura village, on March 29. Two people allegedly thrashed a 26-year-old Litan Miah, after they suspected him to be a cattle lifter for smuggling. Soon, locals also joined the two accused, identified as Sentu Debnath (40), and Amal Chandra (50). The police rushed to the spot and took seriously injured Litan to hospital, where he died. Police arrested the accused and launched an investigation.

Punjab Principal Arrested For Alleged Sexual Assault For Over 14 Years
In Punjab's Mohali, a 54-year-old school principal has been arrested for sexually assaulting girls over 14 years. The accused was arrested after 198 photos and videos, allegedly filmed by the principal was leaked and went viral, on February 15. The matter was unaddressed for years, as no one from the village dared to complain due to his political connections. The Police has formed a SIT and is investigating the matter.

Karnataka Farmers Decided To Die, Seeks PDO's Permission
A Karnataka farmer Manjunath Kambar wrote to the Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) seeking suicide permission, which has been acknowledged and approved. Farmers committing suicide due to debt is not new, but asking for permission is bizzare. In Karnataka's Mangaluru village of Koppala district Kambar built a pond for his farm issues and demanded funds under the MGNREGA scheme. However, the PDO Veeresh G asked Rs 15,000 bribe.

'Ghost Village' In Spain Reappears After 30 Years
Aceredo, also called as "ghost village" in Spain was submerged 30 years ago. It has now resurfaced after the water levels dropped, exposing the ruins of submerged houses. Furthermore, pictures of skeletal remains of the houses and farmhouses from the area were also revealed. Reportedly, the residents of the village were evicted from their homes in 1992 for the reconstruction of a reservoir.
