Kerala Nipah Virus Alert: 39-Year-Old Tests Positive, Cases Tally At 6

A 39-year-old man in Kerala's Kozhikode district, who had sought treatment at a private hospital where Nipah virus affected were treated for other ailments earlier, has tested positive for the virus, taking the total known Nipah infections in the southern state to six. The zoonotic virus, transmitted between species from animals to humans, has already killed two people in Kerala. The Kerala Government has issued advisory for people.

MoHFW Confirms Rise In Covid-19 Cases, Tally At 4.94 Crores

The Novel Coronavirus cases are once again rising in India, with new 45 cases reported on July 7. As per the Ministry of Union Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), the current active cases of Covid-19 stand at 1,455, from the previous 1,452.  The death toll has increased to 5,31,912 with one death each reported from Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. The Covid case tally was recorded at 4,49,94,494.

Haryana Minister, BJP Leader Anil Vij Tests Positive For Covid-19

Amid the rising number of Covid-19 cases, another politician, Haryana's Home and Health Minister Anil Vij also tested positive for Covid-19. "I have isolated myself. I request all those who have come into contact with me for the last few days to get themselves tested," tweeted the 69-year-old BJP leader, on June 22. UK Records 20 New Cases Of Monkeypox Virus; Confirms Community Transmission

A health expert claimed on May 21 that Britain is witnessing frequent cases of the unusual monkeypox virus with no history of travel to West Africa. Susan Hopkins, chief medical adviser for the UK Health Security Agency, answered "absolutely" when questioned if community transmission was the norm in UK.
