India's first indigenously built Missle Corvettes 'INS Khukri' was retired from its service after 32 years in Andhra Pradesh's Visakhapatnam, on December 23. Visakhapatnam Port Records 11% Increase in Cargo Shipping
Visakhapatnam port has logged an 11% increase in cargo shipping for 2019-20 as compared to 2018-19, as informed by the port Trust. According to the data, the port had shipped about 65.30 million tonnes of cargo in 2018-19 while it rose to 72.72 million in 2019-20. The trust added that the port had witnessed a dip of 5.7% in freight during the first half of this fiscal year.

Navy To Undertake Aerial Seeding At Visakhapatnam To Increase Green Cover
Indian Navy, in collaboration with Visakhapatnam's municipal corporation, has started aerial seeding project with an aim to increase green cover in the district. MP Vijayasai Reddy and Vice Admiral Atul Kumar Jain on October 2 flagged-off the project.
