Vishakhapatnam railway station announced to implement "One Station One Product" concept. The station will run on a pilot basis for 15 days and will also display the local artistry, which is Etikopakka toys and handicraft products from the village. The station will become a marketing channel for displaying local products and the identification of craftsmanship, said Anup Kumar Sethupati, Waltair Divisional Manager.

On February 26, Union Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt inaugrated the biennial multilateral naval exercise Milan 22. Indian Navy on January 3 retrieved a body of a person from the sea who drowned a day ago at RK Beach in Andhra Pradesh's Visakhapatnam. Reportedly, a search and rescue operation was launched by the Navy to trace four people who drowned at the Beach, on January 2. One missing person's body was retrieved 150 meters from the coastline, said Defense Public Relations Officer, Visakhapatnam. 

After Ahmedabad, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced on January 6 that the US Government has decided to set up the country's second American Hub in Visakhapatnam. Assuring to provide all the facilities to build the centre, the CM said Andhra Pradesh is the 'most favourable' state for investments. CM Jagan stated, "The Consul General should take the initiative to further enhance cooperation between the US and Andhra Pradesh."
