Vishakhapatnam Railway Station To Implement "One Station, One Product" Concept
Vishakhapatnam railway station announced to implement "One Station One Product" concept. The station will run on a pilot basis for 15 days and will also display the local artistry, which is Etikopakka toys and handicraft products from the village. The station will become a marketing channel for displaying local products and the identification of craftsmanship, said Anup Kumar Sethupati, Waltair Divisional Manager.

Metro Rail Projects In Vijaywada And Vishakhapatnam gets Headway
The Vijaywada and Vishakhapatnam metro projects have undergone several changes in the past five years made by the TDP term and the YSCRP government. The metro will be 76.9 km long with the budget of Rs. 14,000 crores, excluding the land acquisition cost of Rs. 1240 crore. The made-up is broken into two phases each with a distance covering 38.74 km each.

Naval Exercise Of MILAN 22 Begins In Vizag: Andhra Pradesh
On February 26, Union Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt inaugrated the biennial multilateral naval exercise Milan 22. Indian Navy All Set For Presidential Fleet Review On Feb 21
President Ram Nath Kovind will review the Indian Navy’s fleet at the Presidential Fleet Review 2022 on February 21 off the Visakhapatnam coast in Andhra Pradesh. The review will commemorate India’s 75th year of Independence, celebrated as 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav'. Around 60 ships and submarines, and 55 aircraft are scheduled to participate in the review. Notably, INS Sumitra will lead the Presidential Column.

Navy Retrieves Missing Person's Body From Visakhapatnam's RK Beach
Indian Navy on January 3 retrieved a body of a person from the sea who drowned a day ago at RK Beach in Andhra Pradesh's Visakhapatnam. Reportedly, a search and rescue operation was launched by the Navy to trace four people who drowned at the Beach, on January 2. One missing person's body was retrieved 150 meters from the coastline, said Defense Public Relations Officer, Visakhapatnam.

SEB Destroys 49 Acres Of Cannabis Plantation Under Operation Parivarthan: AP
Under 'Operation Parivarthan,' the Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) and Visakhapatnam Police destroyed 49 acres of cannabis plantation in Nerellabanda village of Gudem Kotha Veedhi Mandal. On December 12, Mandal Inspector GK Veedhi said it's an awareness program to inform villagers about the ill effects of the cannabis crop. Earlier in November, 5,500 acres of cannabis cultivation were destroyed in the Visakhapatnam Rural Agency Area.

US Govt Shows Interest To Install Second American Hub In Vizag
After Ahmedabad, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced on January 6 that the US Government has decided to set up the country's second American Hub in Visakhapatnam. Assuring to provide all the facilities to build the centre, the CM said Andhra Pradesh is the 'most favourable' state for investments. CM Jagan stated, "The Consul General should take the initiative to further enhance cooperation between the US and Andhra Pradesh."

Gas Cylinder Explosion Injures Six People In Vishakhapatnam
A gas cylinder explosion in Vishakhapatnam has injured atleast six people and destroyed the house. Reportedly, the explosion occurred when the owner of the house, Maheshwari, tried to fix a gas leakage that she noticed while connecting a new cylinder. The injured were rushed to a hospital after the fire was extinguished. As per the report, the owner is in critical condition.
