Visually impaired

In Delhi's Dwarka, a man who helped a 20-year-old visually impaired woman cross a road, allegedly raped her, on May 25. The incident occurred when the woman de-boarded a bus at the Sitapuri bus stand and asked the locals to help her cross the road. The accused took her to a deserted lane and raped her. A case has been registered and further details are awaited.

A video of a man interpreting a football match for his visually-impaired friend has gone viral online. The heartwarming video was shared on Instagram by Good News Movement and captioned "Cesar interpreted the game for his friend Carlos, who is blind. Cesar guides his friend's hands at every move and goal." The netizens are praising Cesar's nice gesture. However, the video has already gained 5 lakh views on Instagram. 

University Grants Commission (UGC) has asked all its affiliated colleges and universities to integrate resources for visually-impaired students. Educational resources like Braille-print books, large print books, tactile books, audiobooks should be adopted to meet their needs and assist them in their curriculum.
