Tennis legend Serena Williams has announced her retirement on August 9, reported Vogue. The 40-year-old has won 73 career singles, 23 career doubles titles. In an emotional post, William who is a mother said, "A lot of people don’t realize that I was two months pregnant when I won the Australian Open in 2017. But I’m turning 41 this month, and something’s got to give." Hence, she announced her retirement.

US' Amanda Gorman Becomes First Poet To Feature On Vogue Magazine's Cover
American poet-cum-activist Amanda Gorman etched her name in history as she became the first poet to be featured on the cover of Vogue magazine. The 23-year-old wrote on Instagram, "I am eternally grateful and do not expect to be the last- for what is poetry if not beauty?" She came to the limelight after reading her poem "The Hill We Climb" at Joe Biden's presidential inauguration in January.

Hijab-wearing Model Halima Aden Quits Modeling, Cites Religious Beliefs
Halima Aden, a renowned "hijabi" model, has retired from runway modeling as she said it was against her religious beliefs. "Being a 'hijabi' is truly a journey with lots of highs and lows," she said. The 23-year old American model made her debut as a semi-finalist in 2016 at Miss Minnesota wearing a hijab. She has also been a cover model for reputed magazines like British Vogue and Allure.
