The government has planned to link the electoral roll data with Aadhaar as the Lok Sabha passed the Election Laws (Amendment) Bill 2021, on December 20. It was presented by Law Minister Kiren Rijiju and passed by a voice vote. However, it was passed amid the uproar in the house by opposition members over the Lakhimpur Kheri violence issue. Rijiju said that it'll make the election system more transparent.

The Parliament, through the Lok Sabha's voice vote on March 24, cleared the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions Bill, 2021.
