Volvo Announces To Go Fully Electrical From 2025

Car maker Volvo announced it to only sell electric vehicles, starting in 2025. Notably, the giant company announced that it would go electric globally, from 2023, whereas the sale of electric cars would begin in 2025. In electric vehicles, the company currently sells the Volvo CX40 Recharge in India and confirmed that the compact SUV will be joined by its coupe-sibling called the Volvo C40 Recharge soon.

IPO Oversubscribed Ahead Of Trading Debut Says Volvo Cars

Gothenburg-based Volvo Car said on October 29 that their Initial Public Offering (IPO) was oversubscribed, ''as it attracted strong interests from the institutional investors'' in Sweden's Stockholm. Reportedly, the IPO was priced at 6.22 dollars per share, and the company wishes to distribute nearly 380 million new shares. Once shares are sold, the company will also use the money for its electric-only model line-up.

Volvo Cars Records 43% Growth In Global Sales In May

Swedish luxury carmaker Volvo Cars has registered a 43% year-on-year growth in its global sales in May 2021. The company has sold 64,111 cars worldwide in May 2021. The majority of the sales were recorded in the United States and Europe with a strong demand for the models like XC90 and XC60. Meanwhile, in China, Volvo has continued its 14-month sales growth streak by selling 16,895 units.

Volvo To Go 100% Electric By 2030; Vows To Transition To Online Sales

Volvo S60 To Launch In India By March 2021; Bookings Open From January

Swedish automobile maker Volvo will launch its new 'Volvo S60' in India from March 2021. Reportedly, the company will open bookings for the same from January 2021. The car will be introduced with a 4-cylinder, 2.0-litre petrol engine with 190hp. Besides, it will have features such as the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with Sensus Connect infotainment device. Moreover, the company's top official hinted a launch of e-vehicle in India.

Volvo Eicher CV Acquires Volvo Group India's Bus Business

Eicher Motors on August 13 said its subsidiary Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles (VECV) is acquiring Volvo Group India for Rs 100.50 crores to manufacture, assemble, distribute, and the sale of Volvo buses in India. They will also be looking into providing services and spare parts. The manufacturing plant at Hoskote, Bangalore, and employees of VBI will be transferred to VECV.
